Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra has lauded the permanent signing of Nick Firmino.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Five Stripes figurehead praised the business done by Atlanta to sign the Brazilian into the senior squad from Atlanta United 2.
The 22-year-old has this season enjoyed a record-breaking campaign in MLS Next Pro, setting a new single-season goalscoring record of 16, as well as registering six assists.

Making his official MLS debut earlier this year for Atlanta and scoring, Firmino is a talent who has got Five Stripes supporters excited, Bocanegra seemingly can’t wait to see what the youngster does next year.
Bocanegra said: “Nick is a player who has continued to improve and perform at a high level during the past two seasons, capped off by his MLSNP Best XI honors.
“He’s a versatile midfielder with a good engine who has a nose for goal. We’re excited to continue to watch his development at the club.”
Atlanta have landed a gem in Firmino

Firmino has been nothing short of a revelation for Atlanta United 2 in MLS Next Pro, and the Georgia franchise will feel like they have landed a gem of a player.
The South American talent has already proven he can do the business with the professionals, and next season could see Firmino take his game to a whole new level.
The youngster is hungry and eager to make a name for himself in MLS, and Firmino will now get that chance next year in the 2024 season.
